Location:  I shoot “on location”, with most of my time spent shooting outdoors. I do have several locations that I visit frequently, but am always open to a new spot! If you have a special place in mind, please feel free to tell me all about it!

Kids: Is your child a perfect angel that listens to everything you say? No? Guess what…they won’t be for our session either. Babies cry. Siblings fight. Noses run. It’s the nature of the beast. I want your kids the way they are…warts and all, as they say. So stress less. Relax and your kids will relax. If they want to run, let them. I’m aiming to capturing real life.

For the session, try to schedule when your kid(s) is(are) at his or her best. Bring snacks and any toy that is their favorite. I don’t bring any props with me, so if there’s something specific you have in mind, please feel free to bring it to work it in. If your babe is attached to what I call a lovie, please, please, please bring it to the session. Some of the most precious images I’ve captured for parents showcase the relationship their child has with their lovie.

Clothes: For family sessions, my suggestion is to pick clothing that coordinates, but isn’t too similar. Clothes in color families blend well, but show personality. Bright colors look awesome in a neutral setting and neutral colors really marry well when photographed in the midst of color.

For newborns, unless you have an item of clothing that is sentimental, I prefer to photograph newborns in their birthday suit. With that in mind, if the session is taking place in your home, please set your thermostat to be warm. Babies tend to relax and drift off to sleep when it’s warm.

Cost: Photography is an investment. Not only of your money, but of your time. It's also an investment of my time and sessions are priced accordingly. Please make certain when considering scheduling a session that you have reviewed samples of my work to ensure that my style matches yours. Refunds will not be given.

Then What? After our session, I’ll begin culling through your session to give you the very best images I’ve captured. I apply editing to your photos, often times using a style that matches the mood of the session. Was it dramatic with lots of action? Was it more subdued and romantic? My style will match accordingly.

For 1 hour sessions, my turn-around time is typically 2 weeks. During which time, I will post a few images from your session to the Red Clay Photography Facebook page. If your session is being done as a surprise to someone, please let me know so that I will wait to post any images.

For weddings, my turn-around is typically 1 month. During peak times of year, session turn-around may take longer.

Your images will be provided to you via online gallery. At this time, I do not provide printing services to my clients, however, I can recommend a few online printers that do a wonderful job with quality work! My favorite for printing is Mpix and for cards Tiny Prints.

I HIGHLY recommend you stay away from your local big box store when printing your photos. The quality is sub-par and if you just took the time, incurred the expense, and if we’re talking young children, let’s be honest…the stress of a photo session, why not spend a bit more and get a printed product that you’ll be proud to display in your home or give to a loved one as a gift.
